I find a pretty little junebug crawling on the carpet…
Work at China Wok for a few hours. Cecily fired the other driver…I feel led to inform Art because he left not too long ago.
Me: “she fired john today because he was too slow.”
Art: “R u kidding me????? Ahahahahahaha….That’s funny…She just told him to go home? Or what’s happened”
Me: “i don’t know. she just called me in to work tonight and said ‘John quit..’”
Art: “Hm… Why u think she fired him?”
Me: “cause hes a slow driver. I knew he wouldn’t last long.”
Art: “)))) now u gonna work 7 days?”
Me: “no. just 4 full days and maybe come in for night on 3 days.”
Art: “That’s how it is… She didn’t like me and how I worked, she replaced me…and here we go”
Me: “yup it’s a cycle. im lucky. maybe im china wok’s chosen one.”
Art: “Ahaha, Robert, I love u, u r the best “chinese” I’ve ever met!”
Applesauce.
I grab Darren and Greg at the house—quick stop at Chanello’s for a large Cheese Pizza—and then to Stephanie’s house for a get together. Ashley’s leaving for Rochester tomorrow. She says, “We are celebrating moving forward, moving back, and the true beauty of vb.” Chillin’ on the back porch—sharing Pumpkin Ales and tobacco. Out on the pier over the bay—sitting in a circle…it’s peaceful. Rachel Woolard leads us in a chant she likes to do at the yoga studio…
Is being needy a sign of unintelligence?
Lauren rings me. She’s back at the house and claims to have heard 8 gunshots in Chanticleer.
Darren, Greg, and I arrive at our court to find cop cars at post in the parking lot. As we walk down the sidewalk there are at least seven officers sharing laughter right outside the kitchen window of our townhome…
I inquire, “Is everything alright? What’s going on?”
Cop responds with, “Oh we’re just having a donut convention.”
Piano.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Sleep soon after 4 a.m.
