Waking up just after noon. She’s all warm next to me. My nose is clogged up like crazy and there’s phlegm choking my mouth. Just going through a passing sick season.
Hot Cinnamon Oatmeal with Brown Sugar, Flax Seed, and Coconut Milk. Orange Juice. Zinc (50 mg) and Ibuprofen (200 mg).
Errands. Groceries. I’m switching to Sensodyne toothpaste.
Grilled Cheese with Tomato. Creamy Tomato Soup with Gouda Cheese. Multi Grain Tortilla Chips with Fresh Guacamole. Honey Green Tea.
Business. Research. Taxes.
Doug and Emily stop by the house. I let Doug browse through my t-shirts to see if he wants any for his vintage t-shirt collection.
Banana. Aloe Vera Drink.
I get called into China Wok for an hour and a half of work. Making easy money.
Carrots.
Rick’s Café reunion. Elliott, Darren, Vincent, Levi, JP, and Margot all at a table.
Catfish Strips with Cocktail Sauce. Mac n Cheese. Texas Toast.
Kevin is having a sort-of-date on the other end of the restaurant with a pretty 35-year old to whom he says was mesmerized by his violin playing the other night at an open mic. Every now and then one of us has to pass his table on the way to the bathroom...to make it awkward for him and give him a hard time.
Conversation and eats continue. Remembering a few house shows back in the day at 1623. Paleo is mentioned...
Me: “He’s not cheap with his words and he has good melody.”
Levi: “That’s what I want people to say about me.”
Back at Margot’s spending the night. I rub her back via her request while we talk about funny and sincere things.
Me: “It’s about finding a sincere man.”
Sleep 3 a.m.
