I’m being escorted through a jungle, which is understood to
be located somewhere near the outer banks of North Carolina even though that
doesn’t make any sense. We stop to examine a thorn bush and notice two watchers
across a field. They intend on shooting us with bow and arrows. My guide seems
confident that we can avoid danger. We continue moving but at a swift pace.
Everything around us is so vibrant and lush – admiring the whole
scenery...tranquil...the calm shore break – dipping my feet in – the idea of
being on the edge of the country is frightening.

Waking up at 11:08 a.m.
Strawberry Toaster Pastries. Orange Juice.
All day shift at China Wok.
It’s a beautiful sunny day out, beautiful enough for the
kids to be playing on the streets.
Lentil Spread Sandwich with Tomato. Salt n Vinegar Chips. Honey
Green Tea.
The deliveries pick up around 4 p.m. and it’s pretty much
non-stop from there. I attempt to learn Russian while driving. No pressing
thoughts except for the usual stress on the road.
The cold night invades the senses.
Tofu with Broccoli, Onions, Carrots, and Rice in Garlic
Sauce.
Off work and back home. Jonathon’s funeral was today.
Unfortunately I had to miss it because of work. But all the kids who attended
are here bumbling drunkenly about the house. I’m not enthused. This place will
become a zoo. I lock myself in my room and all I can hear is the constant
thumping from the staircase and the banging on doors, mostly on Kevin’s door as
most everyone gets a kick out of picking on him.
Chilling out in my room – playing poker. I’ve got absolutely
no energy left.
I’m off to bed early at 2:30 a.m.
