Throughout the long hours of the morning and early afternoon I’m persistently being awoken by the clinking sounds of the ceiling fan and the racket from construction workers just outside Ana’s window. Eventually I get up and remedy the fan noise by taking out one of the light fixtures. I continue to sleep and sleep and sleep until I can’t sleep anymore.
It’s about 1:30 p.m. I snack on a leftover slice of the pizza from last night, sip on water, and reflect on yesterday’s happenings. I have no idea where to go from here. Everything happened so fast. I have conflicting feelings, but only mildly conflicting. Just weeks ago, I guess maybe even days ago, I was distraught about Aysena. I mean the future between her and I was bleak but it wasn’t any of our faults. I guess I shouldn’t feel guilty. It’s something that’s just not feasible or possible. I’ve lost my faith in that dream. It’s a shame. And not to mention she deleted all communications with me. There doesn’t seem to be any hope on her end. I don’t know what I’m gonna do. I mean what can I do? I need to just live my life here and open myself up to opportunities like I had last night.
It’s almost 4 p.m. Ana arrives home from work. We’re both starving for food and drink. She drives us to the Tropical Smoothie on 21st Street in Ghent. I order one with Goji Berry, Strawberry, Banana, and Non-Fat Yogurt. She orders a kiddie size “chocolate chimp” and a Veggie Hummus Wrap, which I eat half of. We run into Ramona Quimby who works here (she was around for the early days of Show N Tells).
Ramona: “Hey dad.” (One of the few who call me dad)
Me: “I didn’t know you worked here.”
Ramona: “Yeah for the past five years.”
...
Driving back to Ana’s house she comments about her long hair and jokes about getting it cut.
Me: “Your hair is your elegance and beauty.”
Ana: “I don’t know what I’d do without it.”
Me: “You wouldn’t have elegance and beauty.”
...
Back at her house off Norview. I notice the open pizza box with the leftover crusts and how I discarded the condom wrapper there. She happens to own an old record called College Drinking Songs so I set it up for a photo.
Taking Papa, the mini poodle, for a walk. It’s a thick humid summer day in the neighborhood.
After that we settle down in her bedroom. She’s real cuddly and affectionate. I take a liking to her pet-like behavior. Things get steamy after we start touching each other and it progresses into sex. This will be the second time in the last 24 hours. I finish this time.
...
Relaxing on the futon after our appetite was satisfied. She catches me pondering.
Ana: “I always feel like you’re thinking and I want to know what it is.”
Me: “My mind is always racing. But I was just thinking about how little I know about you.”
Ana: “You’ll know more in time.”
I pick up my phone to type some words.
Ana: “And you’re always taking notes. That’s cute. But then you have to don’t you? But you like it too.”
Me: “I really like how calm it feels to hang out with you.”

Her black and white striped chair by the window inspires a photo shoot.
I finally leave for Virginia Beach. I’m sure some of the boys are wondering where I’ve been.
Spaghetti with Garlic, Onions, Peppers, and Tomato Basil Sauce with Garlic Bread.
Watching Forces Spéciales (2011).
Going on a night ride around the neighborhood.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Sleep 4:30 a.m.
