Waking up at 11 a.m.
Strawberry Greek Yogurt with Bananas. Honey Oolong Tea.
All day shift at China Wok.
It’s a fairly busy day for deliveries.
Mesquite Almonds. Five Guys French Fries with Ketchup. Lemon Water.
Delivering an order to an apartment in Barberton Court. A big black man with bulging wild eyes answers the door. His living room is dark. He hands me exact change for his food then pulls out a dollar bill debating whether or not to hand it to me.
“Do you need a dollar for tip?” he asks with a furrowed brow.
“Yes. We work for tips. But that’s up to you.” I say.
I shouldn’t have even said that last part because then he puts the bill away and shakes his head, “Ah. Nah.” then closes the door. Wow.
Apple.
“A healthy relationship is one where two independent people just make a deal that they will help make the other person the best version of themselves.”
Finally, after 11.5 hours of hard labor, I’m at home. As soon as I step into the door there’s a debate between Kelley and Darren that’s somehow escalated to the point where they’re screaming. I retreat up to my room.
Enjoying some Vegetable Egg Fried Rice and watching one of my favorite basketball movies, Blue Chips (1994), and sipping on a beer.
Sleep 4 a.m.
