Waking up around 1:30 p.m.
Grapefruit. Honey Bunches of Oats with Almond Milk.
Watching basketball.
Making Cabbage & Potato Skillet while Darren figures out the most complicated way to brew tea.
Cabbage, Potatoes, and Onions. Maple Leaf Cookies. Lemon English Breakfast Tea.
Cleaning.
Watching basketball.
Working one hour at China Wok. It's pretty slow for a Friday night.
Catching up on writing.
Peanut Butter Bagel. Lentil Chips. Orange Juice.
Carpool to Norfolk. I drive Darren, Leisa, and Josh to The Iguana for Shake!, a monthly 60's revivalist night where they spin vinyl of the Soul-Mod-Britpop-Garage-Motown genres. Most of our other friends are here, James, Will, Sasha, Ana, Jes, and AJ. Gulping down two $3 Rolling Rocks and cutting a rug on the dance floor. Ana and I share a few moments of twirling each other around and syncing up a "trust dip" as she calls it. I like to observe her dance; she moves with such fervor and energy, the way I like to dance and see others dance.
After 2 a.m. they kick us all out. I turn to Ana and say, "You were the sexiest dancer here."
Doubtful she responds, "You're just saying that."
Me: "I don't just say things! It's true."
Back home. Settling down, hoping my hearing will regain its abilities again. Wearing earplugs would've made a difference.
