Towards the end of the night Ana accompanies me on my deliveries. She eats her favorite dish: orange tofu with mixed vegetables. Talking about how my hunger right now isn't unbearable. Usually the nights I have to work late is when the stinging starving sensation becomes too much. I jinx myself by even talking about it because tonight becomes one of those nights that never seem to end. And of course Ling is cashing me out and that's always a production. I don't wanna be here! I don't wanna be here! I don't wanna be here!
I arrive home from work finally after almost 12 hours on the job. Ana left her phone in my car and I act a little impatient about it but I rise to my duty despite and walk back out to the car to retrieve. She senses my irritation. I hand over the phone and say, "I love you," in hopes to soften her and myself up. She responds with an expressionless, "Thanks." Later we exchange a few messages of understanding.
Meanwhile, downstairs I hear the hoots and hollers from Darren, Kevin, Josh, and Richie getting drunk. That is the last thing I need to be around right now. I just don't have the need to release that kind of pent up angst. I'm grateful to have my room, which serves as a panic room so to speak from the outside world.
Tofu with Broccoli, Onions, Carrots, and Rice in Garlic Sauce.
Practicing some songs at the storage unit.
Sleep 3:40 a.m.
