Waking up at 1:12 p.m.
Honey Crunch n Oats with Almonds and Vanilla Almond Milk.
Vacuuming. Cleaning.
Grapefruit.
Ken spent the night. I take him with me to The Heritage to refill my honey jar and buy a couple drinks.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. Barbecue Quinoa Chips. Banana. Pomegranate Red Tea.
At the Rec Center. Working out and basketball.
Back at the house. Fixing dinner. I make a bowl of veggies, black beans, and rice for Ana. And for myself: Salmon, Zucchini, and Rice. Ken's still here. Jes comes over bearing edible and drinkable gifts like Crispins (Ana and I enjoy a couple bottles), Golden Monkey Ales, and Brie. Two Couch surfers have arrived also, Irina and Natalia, one from Poland and the other from Ukraine. After looking around at all the pictures and art on the walls they say, "Your house has a soul!"
Me: "Yeah it has a lot of souls."
After Kevin gets home from China Wok we transfer our social energy into music. Kevin brings down the violin, Ken and I on guitars, and a melodica floats around. I sing a few of the usual songs I perform. Ken sings a few originals. Eventually, we're all just singing – oldies – Beatles – Cardigans – Sufjan Stevens – "Closing Time" by Semisonic. It's a grand ole time with good company.
Jes and Ken leave. While Kevin continues to entertain the couch surfers Ana and I resign upstairs in my room. She had a strange attitude on and off throughout the evening – it seems she gets a little insecure whenever new couch surfers are here. I don't know why. But it didn't deter her from having a good time and all that. It just concerns me. I question her behavior and we settle the doubts in her mind. I lie down resting my head on her chest as she wraps her arms around me, a position that doesn't often happen.
Sleep at a late hour.
