Kevin in the new Rick's Cafe Booth (January 2 2015)[i]

Waking up at 10:40 a.m.


Irish Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Maca Powder, Maple Syrup, Chia Seeds, Blueberries, and Almond Milk. Earl Grey Tea with Honey.


All day shift at China Wok.


Banana.


It's dramatically slow compared to yesterday.


Chic Pea Salad Sandwich with Tomato. Blue Corn Tortilla Chips with Hummus. Pu-erh Tea.


We've got a new driver working tonight. For some reason this kind of job is a magnet for foreigners. He's a 37-year old Belo Russian who's only been in America for a couple months now. On the down time I talk with him in the kitchen while we fill the dumpling sauce into cups.


Off work and back home. Ana has officially moved into Darren and Devon's room. She's in the middle of cleaning the ceiling fan and the bathroom to her liking.

Chicken with Broccoli and Rice.


I grab Kevin and we retrieve an authentic dining booth from Rick's Café. I made the best offer of $100. It's a big sucker so it takes some tedious time to unscrew the seats and haul it using my station wagon. When all is said and done we set it's foundation in the appropriate spot and enjoy our dream come true – a relic of Virginia Beach history.
