Interlocking Patterns (September 8 2015)[i]

☼ ○ ▬

Having DEJA rehearsal in a pretty spacious hotel room. We've been here for four hours now and haven't even played one note. I'm starting to become frustrated cause my keyboard keeps getting moved and cords unplugged. Older people start to join us inside, grandfathers and grandmothers of the band mates I suppose. I start hocking up an uncontrollable loogie. At this point I can't be discreet – everyone notices. I run outside and lean over the trash can pulling an endless supply of phlegm out of my mouth. It's disgusting. Other people walking by see everything that's going on. I fling some of it over the balcony almost hitting an innocent bystander.

Waking up at noon.

Oatmeal with Peaches, Blueberries, Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, and Kefir. Teeccino.

Research.

Practicing.

Scrambled Eggs. Toast with Non-Dairy Cream Cheese and Jam. Sweet Potato Chips. Honey Green Tea.

Watching Rambo III (1988).

Teaching lessons at Music Makers. Grabbing a couple necessary groceries at Trader Joe's in between.

At the Rec for adult basketball. There's only one game going on at a time cause not enough players showed up. But I manage to get a few games in.

Back home. Ana and I put dinner together: Brown Rice Quinoa Spaghetti with Tomatoes and Zucchini; a Spinach and Lettuce Salad with Tomatoes, Carrots, Cucumbers, and Beets; and Crispins (despite Ana's apprehension).

I pull out the wooden table. Its dinner and a movie for us tonight. We're showing White God (2014), a Hitchcockian thriller with a combination of The Birds and Lassie.

Sharing Grapes and White Peach.

Still have this medical bill from when I got stitches hovering above my head. Without having any knowledge about CT scans I was escorted to get one during my visit. This damn CT scan contributes to 80% of my bill. I already got the bill deducted because I'm uninsured at the moment but in my opinion $3,000 for five stitches above the eye is still unfair. Doing some research to see what other people have done. Considering hiring a billing advocate to negotiate the bill down.

Sleep 3 a.m.
