In a new music studio teaching two of my students, Abby and Julianna. For some reason my mom is here on the couch. While showing Julianna the concept of intervals on the piano my mom interrupts the lesson and complains that I should slow down as if it might be too complex for the students to understand. I pull my mom to the side and demand she stop interrupting in a harsh whisper.
Me: "These are my students. Don't interrupt the flow!"
I try to continue on but Julianna has started crying. I guess the squabble with my mom upset her. I explain to her, "It's okay. Haven't you ever had a disagreement with your mom? It's normal."
Later on, we're driving in a car all four of us. The scene changes to a spot on the grass by a lake in a suburban neighborhood. Ana is there with me at first. Then suddenly she's Margot, my ex-girlfriend. I keep seeing people I know in waking life walk by. It's like a picnic or something.
I joke with Margot, "Did I die? Cause everybody I know is here."
I guess I compared it to that scene in Big Fish when he's being carried to a lake and all the people he ever knew said bye to him. Later on, I look in the mirror and I have red boils all over my face. Then, I notice one loose tooth on my lower jaw.
