On a trip with my dad. We drove to some beach resort city, possibly Myrtle Beach. At a restaurant or club we get caught up in an iPad game that's been popular as of late. I'm stressed out cause it's 3 a.m. and I have to drive back to North Carolina an hour and a half, then back to Virginia Beach an hour and a half. Plus I've got lessons all tomorrow afternoon. I explain all this to my dad but casually tell him that I'll survive.

Waking up at 10:35 a.m.
Leftover Pancakes with Greek Yogurt and Syrup. Guayusa Tea.
At the Rec for afternoon adult basketball. From the sidelines I watch a guy land on his leg all wrong and now he's crippled temporarily – the pain is so much that he can't even move. It's always disheartening to watch someone else get hurt. That could've been any one of us. Later on, I get a scrape above my eye from someone charging to the basket. It's not as bad compared to the other time I got hurt but it's a little cut – there's a little blood.
Tuna Salad Sandwich with Lettuce and Tomato. Potato Chips. Honey Green Tea.
Teaching a couple in-home lessons.
Back home. Relaxing.
Ana and I ride out to Kempsville to drop off my keyboard at KBD Systems.
Then to Kappa Nara Ramen right next to Grumpy's where DEJA will be playing later. Mom meets us at the restaurant. They serve Ramen Noodles here, kind of like Pho but Japanese style. We all enjoy fancy bowls of noodles and hot Green Tea.
Next door at Grumpy's now. Ana and mom stay for the first 90-minute set. The whole band is on autopilot from doing these songs so many times before. On the break I enjoy a Heineken at the bar. After the show we have a band meeting about possibly learning new material and what we're gonna do when Drew gets his shoulder surgery. There's a lot of questions in the air. And on top of all the hectic things going on in August we're losing the music space by the end of the month. Drew says he's looking for a new spot with a similar set up.
Back home. Eating birthday Cake and sipping on Chamomile Tea.
Sleep 3:30 a.m.
