As soon as I get done at the store I corral my mom and Ana into the car and head to the oceanfront for ELO's debut show at the Neptune stage. My dad and his wife, Patty, are here hanging out. The sound check takes some time. But once we get going our set turns out alright. We performed these songs the best that we could considering all the parts and pieces that have to work together. It's quite a production. After our ELO tribute the Right On band goes next. It's cool to see Nigel and Kevin in their element leading the disco troupe. Between ELO and the 70's dance tunes my mom and dad get transported back in time. When the ultimate Bee Gees song "Stayin' Alive" comes on my mom explains that her and dad saw Saturday Night Fever when it came out in theaters back '77. I love hearing little memories like that of my parents. I never really got to see them together too often growing up.
After the show, the five of us meet up at No Frill Grill in Hilltop. It's nice having all of us together in one place. It could seem kind of awkward but it turns out nice. Mom and I share Chicken Pot Pie and Shrimp Stir Fry. It's kind of a birthday dinner since my birthday just passed, my mom's is coming up on the 12th and my dad's is on the 19th.
Back home. Settling down. Fiddling with the Casio.
Ana's being exceptionally moody but it's not her fault. Aunt Flow is in town. I try my best to be soothing and comforting. Eventually, we share a much needed embrace.
Sleep 3 a.m.
