On top of a mountain. I’m with my mom and a doctor whom we don’t know. An oversized black bat has spawned out of nowhere and is flying around with hostile intent. The three of us make a run for it. It’s strange cause the whole mountainside is draped with a blue tarp allowing us to slide right down. However, it makes climbing up the slopes difficult. Even with the bat swooping down to bite us we manage to make it safely to a building and scramble inside an elevator just in time. The elevator moves side to side rather than up and down. It takes us to another building, and then another. Meanwhile, we hope the bat hasn’t figured out where we are.

After the lessons my dad and his wife, Patty, meet us at the studio.
“Are you finished with what you’re doing?” mom asks as I’m finishing up one last email.
I look back and say, “It’s never finished,” insinuating that running a business is never finished.
“Life is never finished...until you’re dead!” Ana adds.
The things she comes up with on the fly always amazes me. That could easily be seen on a bumper sticker.
“That’s why you gotta keep living while you’re alive!” she completes the slogan.
The five of us have dinner at Wasserhund Brewing for Pizza and Beers.
Back home. The heat is unbearable.
Sleep 3 a.m.
