Waking up bright and early at 8:45 a.m.
Breakfast Bar with Tea.
Lisa asked me to help her with the music at her church, Prince of Peace Lutheran. A couple of her usual band members called out today. I fill in on piano along with Aden on drums. Following lead sheets/chord charts like I used to in church way back in the day. Lisa leads with vocals and flute. It was a treat to watch their organist play the pipe organ pre-service.
Afterwards, with mom and Ana at Commune down at the oceanfront enjoying brunch.
Back home. Napping gratefully.
Catching up on things/chores. Coffee and a Morning Bun.
In Norfolk at Toast for the Ladada music video shoot. Felix directs using all his really nice camera gear and lights. The general plot involves a poker game with fake money, fake guns, and betrayal. It takes a long time to get just the right shots and set up the scenes. Sipping on beers and eating Pizza. A bottle of Evan Williams is used as a prop and for drinks. The song we’re using is called “Heaven on the Rocks”, to which the title is derived from a misheard phrase between Josiah and a barman where he wanted an Evan on the rocks.
Back home. Settling in. Having deep talks with Ana about letting go of grudges in our lives and the importance of moving forward.
