According to the local clocks waking up at 9:40 a.m. but there’s a three hour difference back in VB.
Grabbing a quick Bagel with Cream Cheese, Banana, and Nitro Brew Coffee. Exploring the resort and feasting my eyes on the desert lands.
The whole afternoon is spent getting stuff set up in the big theater room. It’s somewhat stressful cause we’re using backline gear and of course Nigel is running around all scatterbrained but somehow piecing it all together. I’m lucky to get an RD-700 for my piano. Getting the in-ear monitors mixed straight takes some time but eventually we all get a workable mix.
Eating a giant Egg, Beans, Potato, and Avocado Burrito from that same restaurant that always seems to please.
“The Show” room fills up fast. I heard it was sold out with a 2,000 seating capacity. We do two 45 minute sets. The audience is very receptive and engaged. Even though it’s more of an auditorium the people find their way to dance where they can. We only had one major possibly noticeable mishap in a song on “Don’t Bring Me Down” but a lot of it has to do with not having the opportunity to rehearse with Francisco and Leon, the guitar player and drummer. Other than that I’m very proud of our show.
After the show is done I grab a quick dinner with Ron at the restaurant. Honey Shrimp, Broccoli, and Rice. Packing up and clearing out my hotel room. We all have to pile into rental vehicles and start a 13 hour drive to New Mexico overnight.
I take the first shift...
