Waking up at 11:30 a.m.
Oatmeal with Cinnamon, Strawberries, and Almond Milk. Irish Breakfast Tea.
At the ELO space to help Rebecca with the Day Camp camps. They’re performing a 15 minute play about a pirate and a sea monster becoming friends. I had to set up a bunch of chairs for the parents and family to watch. And I’m a pirate extra. It went over really well with all the curtains and lights.
Afterwards, Ana and I link up with Karen Glaze and Wanda at Simple Eats for lunch in celebration of my mom’s birthday. We brought some flowers and picture of mom to sit at the table. It’s nice to talk to them – they’re a strong connection with my mom.
Later, at Music Makers watering the plants and talking with Allyson about the business of the day.
Then, at Elevation 27 – Ladada is opening up for The Relief. We do our raw and rippin’ 45 minute set – things don’t go like we planned at practice but the energy is alive and very much Ladada.
...
After that I hightail it from Hilltop to Shadowlawn to see Community Witch and Snake Mountain Revival at Back Bay. I can’t even remember the last time they did a show up here in the attic. We’re packed in here like sardines – everyone sweating and breathing hot and heavy. It’s very nostalgic and freeing (even though it was suffocating). There’s some great moments during SMR’s set where you can’t escape the music madness. I’m dancing and swaying right in the center of the action – banging my head to every kick drum beat.
Fish Tacos.
On my way to the car I find Wes chillin’ with a gang of people he nor I doesn’t know – they’ve got a 24 pack of Miller and start shot gunning beers.
Back home. Ana and I make fire in the bedroom – much needed for the both of us.
