Waking up shortly after noon.
Cereal with Strawberries, Banana, and Almond Milk. Tea.
Coaching Olivia, Elena, and Sammy’s band. They decide on doing the Powerpuff Girls theme song.
Scrambled Eggs. Toast. Spinach. Coffee.
Watching this YouTube video of Adam Neely about why we hate certain songs or types of music. He interviews somebody somewhere that says this: "The opposite of love is not hate, but being indifferent. Because love and hate means that you care.”
Driving out to Norfolk near Ward’s Corner to meet a guy from OfferUp about some keyboard amps. This whole meeting turns into something really special. The guy, Bill Yarborough, is 92 years old come this Halloween – used to be a well known local musician some time ago doing a one man band thing. But now he’s almost completely deaf and has carpal tunnel in his hands so he can’t listen or play music anymore. He lives with his daughter and wife. Nearby, the wife was crying because of all the sentimental value of everything but they know this stuff needs to move on to a place where it will be used. Two friendly cats guard the front door as I leave. Bill also gifts me with this giant 3-ring binder of this hand written catalogue of jazz chords and progressions he studied and came up with! What a unique OfferUp meeting.
Stopping by for the last half hour of Broadway rehearsal. It’s packed out in there as they run Act I of the production. Rebecca has the help of Carol, Reid, and Haley – things have been productive this session.
Back home. Cooking dinner: Brown Rice Quinoa Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce, Kale, and French Baguette. Ana gets off work at 9 and we’re able to share a meal together.
Over at the studio cleaning up things and figuring out the new amps I got. Constructing this fake walkie talkie thing with an old iPhone for B-52’s.
Later on, having another stressful conversation with Ana. Somehow we end up sleeping in the same bed at some point.
