Meanwhile, I’m getting a few texts and messages from friends wishing me happy birthday. One of them is from Ana – it’s actually a nice and thoughtful message. It makes me feel good to hear from her on my birthday. She always made every birthday worthwhile and always made the best birthday cakes.
Talking with Kevin at the warehouse – he’s been busy organizing ELO gear.
Eggs. Vegan Breakfast Sausage. Beet Greens. Bagel. Coffee.
Teaching lessons at Music Makers – also building tables and fixing things.
After lessons, Rebecca buys me dinner at Las Palmas for my birthday. We chat about confrontations and how it’s important to have open communication in groups of all kinds, bands, workplace, roommates, etc.
Later on, at Ladada band practice with Wes, Josiah, and Bobby. Pizza, beer, and music with my boys. I couldn’t ask for anything more for my birthday. We also have a cathartic moment between Josiah and Wes about the direction of the band.
Back home, settling down in my room. Catching myself up on the day.
